MCPI tackles SPM Roadmap

On February 27, 2008, a consultative workshop on the Social Performance Management (SPM) Roadmap was held at the Taft Tower Hotel in Manila. The meeting was participated by selected members of the SPM Working Group, a group of MCPI members that banded together to share experiences and practices on SPM.

The SPM Roadmap is a tool being developed by the Imp-Act Consortium that aims to map the implementation process and offer a set of guidelines for MFIs and mentors in SPM implementation & integration. Even as the SPM Roadmap is still a work in progress, it offers huge potential in helping MFIs effectively manage their social performance.

The workshop was facilitated by Lalaine Joyas of MCPI and Cristopher Lomboy of Punla sa Tao Foundation. MFIs that sent representatives to the workshop are: People’s Bank of Caraga, Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, TSPI Development Corporation and Ahon sa Hirap (ASHI). The workshop was also attended by Ms. Jesi Ledesma, one of the SPM mentors that will provide technical support to MFIs.
